Summer time bestows upon us some very lovely little black berries. Over the last two weeks my family and I have been venturing out picking them one by one and coming home with marks all over us to show off what we have been doing! These delightful little berries are getting washed and frozen, so in a months time we can have a big day making black berry Jam....just imagine cold early mornings, breathing in the lovely smell of cooking toast, topped off with home made JAM...YUM!!!
Sarah, it is much better not to wash berries before you freeze them!! They go mushy and stick together. Not a problem with jam, but not so nice in blackberry and apple pie or blackberry clafoutis, for example...
