God's Rainbows

Joshua's Rainbow
Rainbows appear after mighty storms,

When things look their very worst.

Just when skies are darkest gray,

Look for the rainbow first.

The rainbow is a sign of God's promise,

That He will guide us through any storm.

That He will see us through all our troubles,

No matter what their form.

When you feel battered by life's storms,

And you are filled with doubt and dismay,

Just remember God's rainbow will come,

For it's only a prayer away.

Nature walk with daddy

One teaching I completely grasp from Miss Mason is the importance of being outside in nature as much as you possibly can. My children have grown up encouraged to go outdoors and explore and see what they can discover. This week Daddy took the children on a plant reproduction study in our very own Croajingalong National Park. The children had to look for 10 different plants each with seeds and take pictures to later put into their nature journal.

Welcome Weekend!

Ahhh, can you feel that? Yes, it is a sigh of relief that tomorrow is Saturday! Last week was my first full week of Ambleside online and although it was good and exciting, it has also been tiring putting together my schedule for the 1st term. It also has been a week of greiving and praying for the fire survivors and fire fighters. So teaching your children with the strong images in your mind I found quite draining. Each day I have felt completely helpless, totally useless, until a quite voice reminds me to pray and keep on praying for these people for I know God answers prayer and each prayer helps carry someone through the day and night.

Berry Delightful

Summer time bestows upon us some very lovely little black berries. Over the last two weeks my family and I have been venturing out picking them one by one and coming home with marks all over us to show off what we have been doing! These delightful little berries are getting washed and frozen, so in a months time we can have a big day making black berry Jam....just imagine cold early mornings, breathing in the lovely smell of cooking toast, topped off with home made JAM...YUM!!!

"Yes I am coming soon"

Over the last few weeks a lot of ministers whom I respect have been mentioning how close the Lord Jesus is in returning. For years I felt quite afraid about Jesus' return for selfish reasons, for I want to see my children grow and all those natural feelings. But in over these last few months, I no longer am fearful but excited about the return of my beautiful Lord, and just have an urgent desire to be ready. Watching and hearing all the horrible things happening in the earth brings the words of Jesus much closer to home -

Mark 13:8Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.

Last night my son watched the news and heard of peoples death. I believe it's important for my children to hear what the Lord has said about these things, so he went to sleep pondering these words of our saviour -
John 16:33
New King James Version (NKJV)These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

All piled up

Sitting here at my notebook, I look down beside me on the left hand side and I have pages and pages of Charlotte Mason notes, different folks schedules, and resources from the PNEU curriculum all that I have printed. Behind me I have Health Food Magazines that I am itching to explore, and beside my bed are Ruth Beechicks 3R's, more CM printables and Brian Houston's 'For this Cause'. Ok so I am bursting at the seams with information, but all I see is an ocean full of gold, wisdom and hidden gems, and I am the treasure hunter.
