Follow your Passion

"Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice."

In a world of uncertainty there is one thing for certain, Jesus had one cause, one purpose and one passion for coming.

He knew His calling, He didn't argue His case or fight His way through, Jesus had one passion on His mind and that was you and me.

"...for the joy that was set before him endured the cross"

In the garden of Gethsemane is where I see my Lords passion so immensely, where His perspiration was turning to drops of blood as He was preparing for Calvary, "And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt".

At the moment our garden is blooming from all the summer rain and humidity. We are harvesting all our summer vegetables in an abundance, and I just love slowly making my way through the garden collecting many fruits and vegetables.

But the garden of Gethsemane is where I love to visit most frequently where I am reminded of my Lords will, passion, suffering, and His ability to endure when He was ready to give up and was asking His Father to take the cause for coming to earth, asking Him to release Him from the overwhelming sorrows that He was laden with.

Still in His most deepest anguish Jesus pronounced "not my will, but as thou wilt".In my life this is where the whole purpose of life exists, in this one expression ~ not my will. From the moment I stepped over from darkness to light I just wanted to be in the centre of my Lords will.

This journey on earth brings to us many joys and celebrations, sorrows and heartbreaks, but there is an incredible peace when you trust in the Lord and acknowledge Him and say not my will Lord but yours be done.

Jesus knew the victory that awaited Him, He saw all of mankind and the new life they could live if they chose the Fathers will.

What was the Fathers will?

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life".

Everlasting life!

Everlasting life!

Everlasting life!

It is very simple yet so profound don't you think. The Father's will is for all of mankind to live with Him for eternity.

Jesus's cause was to make the Fathers will happen.

So for me, the garden of Gethsemane is where my strength is renewed when I feel weak, when I feel like giving up on our business or quitting homeschooling it's where I say not my will Lord, but your will be done.

As I am sitting in this quite garden laying my will down again, I am renewed in His purpose and restored with a fresh passion and my eyes are no longer on myself but on my Lord Jesus Christ.

"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint."

~Isaiah 40:31

  5. Certainly not easy for us to do, lay down our will. But it is always rewarded, even when circumstances do not seem so. Summer seems so far away here right now. I am glad you are enjoying it!
